Branding, Visual Identity

This branding concept was created by myself and Elise Vella. Two of many things me and Elise have in common is how much we love beer and maximalism. We decided to combine the two when coming up with Mess. The idea was to emphasise on the craft aspect of craft beer. Our designs translate that type of stylisation. Taking inspiration from Henri Matisse's famous cut outs, motivated us to create a bold look for our brand. We opted for muted tones to reflect the traditional Belgian craft beers characteristics as they are known for their quality and technique. The design elements were created keeping in mind the musical association we wanted the bar to have, the cuts and bold elements work well with underground music branding. The silhouettes in the secondary logo resemble me and Elise's hair textures.
